Carter Newell Solicitors hosted a Society of Construction Law of Australia talk delivered by visiting London barristers: Marcus Taverner QC, Adam Constable QC, Robert Fenwick Elliott and Jennie Wild from Keating Chambers. This was particularly relevant after the Court of Appeal's decision in Grocon v Juniper. Merissa Martinez delivered the Vote of Thanks.
DRINKS WITH THE CHIEF JUSTICE
On 19 November 2015, Paloma Chambers and the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland hosted drinks with The Right Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes. This fundraising event helped support The Sky Foundation: the front line helping women and children affected by domestic violence in Townsville.
ENGINEERS AUSTRALIA TOWNSVILLE CONFERENCE
On 28 October 2015, Merissa Martinez presented at the Engineers Australia Conference in Townsville. Merissa's focus was Contract Risk Minimization. She joined Gerard Meade (MacDonnells Law) and Christopher Taylor (Counsel in Cairns) on the panel, presenting to almost 100 engineers.
